Historical Ripson Bridge
Built in 1895, Ripson Bridge is the last pony truss bridge in Bond County. The Sorento Homecoming Association took over the bridge as a historic landmark and it is now a walking bridge.

Directions
From St. Louis:
- Take I-70/I-55 East from Downtown
- Just past Troy, IL I-55 and I-70 split. Exit onto I-70 and continue East
- Take the Pocahontas Exit, Exit #36
- Turn Left onto Pokey Road. You will be headed North
- Travel North on Pokey Road for 4 miles to the 1st Stop Sign. There it will intersect with IL Rt. 140
- Turn Left on Rt. 140 headed back west approximately 1 mile.
- Travel to the 1st road on your right, Main Street/Old Ripley Road. Turn North
- Travel through Old Ripley and continue North about 4.8 miles from 140
- About the time you think you have missed it, You will see a large Sign for Ripson Bridge on your right.
- Turn right onto Ripson Bridge Road. You will see the bridge just past the first curve.
From the West:
- Take I-70 West to Greenville, Exit 45
- At the stop sign at the end of the exit turn right on IL Rt. 127
- (You will stay on IL Rt. 127 until it merges with IL Rt. 140 on the Northwest side of Greenville)
- Take 127 North into Greenville over the railroad overpass. Rt. 127 curves West and through town becomes Harris Ave.
- Go through a stop light and then onto the next stop sign at the intersection of Harris and Third Street.
- Turn right on Third Street and head North to College Ave which fronts the north side of the Court House
- Turn left on College Ave. to the next intersection of IL Rt. 140
- Turn left on Rt. 140 and head west. Stay on 140 for 8.4 miles.
- Turn right on Main Street/Old Ripley Road headed North.
- Travel through Old Ripley and continue North about 4.8 miles from 140.
- About the time you think you have missed it, You will see a large Sign for Ripson Bridge on your right.
- Turn right onto Ripson Bridge Road. You will see the bridge just past the first curve.
If you get to Sorento, you have gone too far.
