Honoring The Spirit of Those Who Served

During World War II, more than 400,000 Americans gave a most
precious gift to secure the future of our nation - their lives.
Now, more than half a century later, a national monument is
being established to honor the individuals who fought so bravely to defend our freedom, as
well as those on the home front who contributed to the ward.
The National World War II Memorial is a long overdue tribute
to those who helped win the war, the broadest and deadliest conflict of all time.
From the outset, the VFW has been an avid supporter of this effort and, in 1998,
issued a resolution that reads in part:
"As an organization of overseas combat veterans, the VFW
bears an obligation to not only see the Memorial completed, but to act in a timely manner
before the passing of this generation."
The VFW W.W.II Memorial Fund was created to help fulfill this
obligation. For each dollar donated, the VFW will contribute an additional 50
cents. We appreciate your participation and concern. Donations may be sent to
